The Bar Council of India (BCI) has announced the postponement of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE 19). According to a notice on their official website, the exam originally scheduled for November 24 will now take place on December 1. Along with the rescheduling, the authority has extended the application deadline. The exact reason for the postponement has not been disclosed. Candidates currently in their final year of law studies are eligible to submit their applications online.

Candidates in the General/OBC categories must achieve a passing percentage of 45% to qualify for the exam. Those from SC/ST backgrounds and disabled candidates need a minimum score of 40% to pass.

Supreme Court Ruling for Final Year Students

On October 12, the Supreme Court directed the BCI to permit final year LLB students to take this year’s AIBE. The court emphasized that these students should not be left without options, as not allowing them to participate would waste a year of their education.
